Neil Beckerman

The Legacy Senior Communities

Neil Beckerman was raised in Boston before moving to Fort Worth in high school. After graduating from University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School with an undergraduate degree and an MBA, Neil lived in Dallas from 1978-1987. His career path focused on the consumer packaged goods, consulting and private equity sectors, culminating as president and CEO of Unilever Foods of North America. In 2009, the semi-retired Neil returned to Dallas, where he immersed himself in the Dallas Jewish Community.

Since that time, Neil has served on the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas and JCC Boards. Neil is currently an Officer of the Federation, co-chair of the Pacesetter's campaign and past chair of the Federation’s Planning and Allocations committee, Outreach and Engagement Grants committee and Volunteer Engagement committee. Neil also currently chairs the JCC’s Finance committee and has served on the JCC's Executive committee. Additional community endeavors include past officer and member of the International Board of Directors of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Neil enjoys spending time with his family, and playing golf and poker. Neil’s daughter Michelle, a special education teacher in Dallas, recently wed Matt Neeley; son Drew, a senior financial analyst with Microsoft, recently married Emma Brinkman.

Neil's mother, Greta Beckerman, has lived at the Legacy in independent living for 8 years. As an officer and a Member of the Board of the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas, he has seen first-hand the work that the Legacy Senior Communities has provided seniors in our Jewish Community.
