Endowments for Jewish Life Programming
Levine Academy celebrates Jewish festivals and observes holy and fast days. From the joy of Purim to the solemnity of Yom HaShoa, students learn the meanings and rituals of these special days. Named endowments can be established to underwrite the observance of these days, thereby affording our students the experience of their meaning and ritual.

- Yom HaAtzma’ut: Each year, Levine Academy celebrates Israel Independence Day with special programs such as Yom HaAtzma'ut, an all-day celebration where students experience what it is like to live in a Bedouin tent; eat traditional Israeli foods such as hummus, falafel, and pita; and enjoy various aspects of life in Israel; and Yom HaZikaron, Israel’s Memorial Day for the fallen soldiers and victims of terror; and Yom Yerushalayim, a day to celebrate the reunification of Jerusalem, which is combined with a program that marks the passage of students from the Beck lower school to middle school.
- Yom HaShoa: Holocaust Memorial Day is observed as a somber reminder of the past evil and in solemn memory of the Martyrs. The moving ceremony is student led and exemplifies our commitment to the continuity of the Jewish people.
Early Childhood Center Holiday Cooking Program
From the sweet scent of Rosh Hashanah honey cake to Purim hamentaschen, baking is interwoven with the Jewish preschool experience. An endowment will ensure that this important and creative program continues and grows.
Middle School Shabbaton Retreat
Middle school holds an annual retreat engaging students in the traditional customs of celebrating Shabbat and observing its rituals. An endowment will allow the school to expand its scope and underwrite financial assistance for students whose families have difficulty in paying for this activity.
Family Shabbaton Retreat
Shabbat is central to Jewish continuity. In order to enrich our families' celebration of Shabbat, Levine Academy hopes to conduct an annual Family Shabbaton Retreat. This endowment will help offset the cost for families who wish to participate and underwrite the cost for personnel.
