History

Ann and Nate Levine Academy began as Solomon Schechter Academy of Dallas, a Conservative day school, founded in 1979 by a group of families with the support of Congregation Shearith Israel in Dallas. It continued as the day school of Shearith Israel until 1997. In November of that year, following a formal separation agreement, Solomon Schechter Academy became an independent institution.

In June 2005, the school was renamed Ann and Nate Levine Academy – A Solomon Schechter School, honoring Ann and Nate Levine for their generous support of the school and the Jewish community.
